With the Fuel Efficiency to Reign in the Road
With the 2013 Silverado Hybrid, the phrase “fuel-efficient full-size pickup truck” is no longer a contradiction. As America’s first two-mode full-size hybrid pickup truck, Silverado Hybrid delivers the kind of fuel efficiency you can count on with an EPA-estimated 10.1 L/100km city and 8.4 L/100km highway. Whether it’s road trips with your family or tackling your own personal workload, it’s the truck that’s there to help you finish the job with the fuel economy that works hard for you without having to sacrifice.
A functional bold look
The 2013 Silverado Hybrid front end includes a chrome mesh grille and chrome bumper for a sleek, contemporary look. Aerodynamics are improved through the use of tonneau cover.
Silverado Hybrid comes standard with 18" chrome clad aluminum wheels. These wheels help to lighten the overall weight of the vehicle along with low rolling resistance tires contribute to the EPA-estimated fuel economy of 10.1 L/100km city, 8.4 L/100km highway.
New Exterior Colours
Appearances matter to Silverado owners, and in 2013, Chevy updated the colour choices by adding Deep Ruby Metallic and Blue Topaz Metallic to the lineup.
Interior Colour Choices
Colour choices include Ebony, Light Cashmere with Dark Cashmere Colour and Dark Titanium with Light Titanium Colour.
Leather-appointed front bucket seats are standard on 2HY models, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard on all Silverado Hybrid models.
Peace and Quiet
The excellent passenger comfort of Silverado has been maintained throughout, with a quiet cabin environment at the very top of the list. Silverado Hybrid matches its gasoline-only siblings in comfort and convenience – but attention to acoustic details make it much quieter.
Hybrid Power Flow and Instrumentation
Silverado Hybrid's power flow informs you of how the Hybrid system is currently functioning. Hybrid-specific instrumentation includes an economy gauge that constantly updates your fuel conservation efforts. There's also an auto stop position on the tachometer that lets you know when the engine has shut down and you're running fully on electric power.
Fuel Efficiency No Full-Size Pickup Can Touch
Silverado Hybrid offers 10.1L/100km city, which is unsurpassed by a V6 Honda Accord. It also offers up to 18% better city fuel economy than Ford F-150 and up to 43% better city fuel economy than Ram 1500. Besides increased fuel economy, Hybrid's electrically variable transmission also provides tremendous trailering capability, enhancing smoothness and quality when towing: towing capacity is 6,100 lbs. with 2WD and 5,900 lbs. with 4WD models.
What's more, Silverado Hybrid features two-mode advanced technology:
During Mode 1, your truck can operate three ways at low speeds and with light loads: electric power, engine power, or any combination of the two.
During Mode 2, it provides an electric assist in addition to four-cylinder or eight-cylinder power used primarily at highway speeds or when taking care of tougher demands such as towing trailers and climbing steep grades.
Safety Before, During, and After the Crash
There are three stages of safety, and Silverado takes every one of them as seriously as you do.
StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System helps you keep on the road and in control. The control module compares your steering input with the vehicle's actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual applications to help keep you on track. A Tire Pressure Monitor keeps a constant watch on the inflation level of the vehicle's four road tires.
Six air bags are standard in Silverado Hybrid: driver and right-frontal passenger dual-stage frontal air bags; head-curtain side-impact air bags for the front and rear outboard seating positions; and front-seat mounted air bags for thorax and pelvic protection. You’re also surrounded by a high-strength steel safety cage and strategically placed crush zones to help absorb and channel crash energy in case of a collision.
OnStar® with Built-In Automatic Crash Response is standard for the first six months on most models. In a collision, vehicle sensors can alert an OnStar Advisor who is immediately connected into your vehicle and can request emergency help be sent to your exact GPS location, even if you can’t respond.
2012 Vincentric Lowest Cost of Ownership Award
Every single one of the Silverado models, including the 1500, 2500 and 3500, has the lowest cost of ownership of any full-size pickup in its class. The Vincentric lowest cost of ownership award is calculated by combining the costs associated with depreciation, insurance, repairs, maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled), finance, fuel, taxes and state fees (including the federal hybrid tax credit), and opportunity costs according to Vincentric.
2012 Edmunds.com Lowest True Cost to Own®
